IP Subnetting
IP subnetting is the process of dividing a network into smaller networks, called subnets. This is done by borrowing bits from the host address and using them to create a subnet mask.
The subnet mask is a 32-bit number, just like an IP address. It is used to determine which part of an IP address is the network address and which part is the host address.
For example, the subnet mask 255.255.255.0 has all of the host bits set to zero. This means that the entire host address is used to identify the network, and there are no individual host addresses available.
IP Routing
IP routing is the process of forwarding packets from one network to another. This is done by routers, which are devices that connect different networks together.

IP Fragmentation
IP fragmentation is the process of breaking a large packet into smaller packets. This is done because some networks have a maximum packet size, called the Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU).
When a router needs to forward a packet that is larger than the MTU of the next network, it fragments the packet into smaller packets. The fragmented packets are then reassembled at the destination router.
IP Version 4 (IPv4)
IP Version 4 (IPv4) is the original version of the IP protocol. It is still the most widely used version of IP today, although IPv6 is becoming more popular.
IPv4 uses 32-bit IP addresses, which means that there are only about 4 billion unique IPv4 addresses available. This has led to an address shortage, as the number of devices connected to the Internet continues to grow.
IP Version 6 (IPv6)
IP Version 6 (IPv6) is the next generation of the IP protocol. It was designed to address the address shortage of IPv4, as well as other issues with IPv4.
IPv6 uses 128-bit IP addresses, which means that there are virtually an infinite number of unique IPv6 addresses available. IPv6 also includes a number of other features that are not available in IPv4, such as built-in support for security and Quality of Service (QoS).
